How to

Convert Google Slides to video without a video editor

Use the deck you already have. Slides To Video turns Google Slides into MP4 videos or GIFs with a straightforward add-on workflow.

Person preparing a slideshow workflow on a laptop
  1. Install Slides To Video. Open the Google Workspace Marketplace listing and add it to the Google account you use for Slides.
  2. Open your Google Slides presentation. Use a finished deck or prepare a simple sequence of photos, captions, charts, or product screens.
  3. Launch the add-on from Google Slides. Keep the workflow inside Slides instead of exporting images and rebuilding the project in a separate editor.
  4. Choose MP4 or GIF. Use MP4 for most videos and GIF for short looping previews or lightweight visual snippets.
  5. Set slide timing. Give viewers enough time to read captions, names, or key points. Photo-only slides can move faster than text-heavy slides.
  6. Add music when it improves the result. Music helps event videos feel finished, especially birthday, wedding, memorial, holiday, and class recap slideshows.
  7. Render and share. Download the finished file and use it in email, messaging apps, social posts, event screens, or team updates.

Best deck setup before exporting

Use landscape slides, keep text large, avoid tiny captions, and place important faces or product details away from the edges. A slideshow video is easier to watch when every slide has one clear idea.

When to choose MP4 versus GIF

Choose MP4 for a complete slideshow with music, narration, or more than a few slides. Choose GIF for short silent loops, quick previews, or moments that need to repeat automatically.
